Friends, I am hugely appreciative of all the positive feedback on TLD's Fit Club posts. It was exactly what I was hoping for, so keep up the great work, and keep the commentary coming. Come hell or high water, I swear to fucking christ we're all gonna be Gucci models by August.
So let's not fuck around today, work is hectic and I have shit to do. Suffocation is not only the best brutal death metal band to lift weights to, they are also the best brutal death metal band that ever existed. EVER. This classic EP is an absolute MANDATORY release, the type of thing that I haven't even bothered to post since I just assumed everyone already had it. Rawer, faster, and grittier than the slamming-yet-technically-adept beast they would become, Human Waste is the archetypal brutal death metal from a band that begat untold numbers of admirers and copycat acts, yet has never been superseded in terms of overall songwriting/brutality.
Some might call it blasphemy, but I'll take this over Abominations of Desolation any day of the week.
Tracklist:
1. Infecting the Crypts
2. Synthetically Revived
3. Mass Obliteration
4. Catatonia
5. Jesus Wept
6. Human Waste
god has turned his back on you
only good thing band did
ReplyDeleteno love for 'Pierced' or 'Effigy' either, huh?
Deletebasically this style of death metal is absolute shit when it goes into standstill ooga booga chugging, no forward momentum. which is most of the time. this one has that thrust. also why I like brodequin.
DeleteThis one is definitely my second favorite behind "Pierced..."
ReplyDeleteI always get a ton of shit for putting those two at the top of the heap over Effigy but I dunno those two definitely have a "so-fucking-pissed-my-brain-is-short-circuiting" vibe that just untouchable in my books, especially Catatonia off Human Waste and Thrones of Blood off Pierced.
Gah... those vocals just cant be coming out of a human it sounds like he's gargling metal filings and lava.
I agree whole-heartedly with Moz. This one is amazing, but Pierced is just the best Death Metal album ever made. It blew my mind (as well as my speakers and ears) when I first heard it at 14. I never really liked Effigy, largely because it has a seriously thin production. Pierced seriously crushes you and it's where the band really found themselves.
DeleteThat's a great death metal song name right there. GARGLING METAL FILLING AND LAVA
ReplyDeleteIt's still my favorite from them because it's so unhinged and raw...a classic release.
ReplyDeletefuck yes! the opening 5 seconds from 'infecting the crypts' makes a 315lb decline bench seem effortless. chug.
ReplyDeleteThanks , Bro! Suffo fucking eradicate everything with their Brutality!
